Westlake Takes 301 Classic 13-7

Friday night the westlake wolverines faced cross town rival thomas stone in the season finally know as the 301 classic. The wolverines went on defense to start the game and got the cougars to go three and out and punt the ball. The wolverine offense came out on the second play from scrimmage the cougars intercepted the ball and ended the drive. The wolverine defense held the cougar offense to only six points in the first half whle the offense hadn't scored. Westlake went in trailing six to zero at halftime. The wolverines got to recive the ball to start the second half. The wolverine offense drove the ball down feild and on a play well blocked by the well coached offensive line, running back Greg Walker burst up the middle for a 20 yard touchdown run. The point after was made by sophmore kicker Nick Koster and it gave westlake a one point lead. The wolverine defense after that swarmed to the ball like a pack of hungry wolves and the cougars couldnt move the ball. Then in the forth qaurter on a fourth down play junior quarterback Darrin Moore took a qauterback sneak up the middle and scored on a 8 yard quaterback sneak. The westlake defense held for the remainder of the game and the wolverines won the close game with a 13 to 6 victory over the rival cougars and brought the 301 trophy back to westlake where it belongs.
